Assam Special TET 2023: The Government of Assam has recently issued the official notification for the 6th Schedule Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Lower Primary and Upper Primary levels in the 6th Schedule area districts of Assam. The Assam Special TET 2023 exam will allow eligible and interested candidates with a permanent residence in the 6th Schedule area district of Assam to appear in Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary) of the exam.
The Assam Special TET 2023 exam is an important exam for aspiring teachers who want to teach in government or private schools in the 6th Schedule area of Assam. The qualified candidates of the 6th Schedule TET will be eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the post of elementary teachers of schools located in the 6th Schedule area provided they have other academic and professional qualifications as per NCTE norms.

Qualifying marks
In order to qualify for the Assam Special TET 2023 exam, a candidate is required to score a minimum of 60%, which is 90 marks out of a total of 150 marks. However, there is a relaxation of 5% for candidates belonging to certain categories, such as SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH).
For these candidates, the qualifying marks will be 55%, which is 83 marks out of a total of 150 marks. It is important for candidates to meet the minimum qualifying marks in order to be eligible for the recruitment process for the post of elementary teachers in schools located in the 6th Schedule area of Assam.
Candidates are advised to prepare well for the Assam Special TET 2023 exam and aim to score higher than the minimum qualifying marks in order to increase their chances of getting selected for the teaching position. Practice with previous year’s question papers, online mock tests, and other study materials can help candidates prepare effectively for the exam.
Educational Qualification For LP
In order to be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, candidates must meet certain educational qualifications as per the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The following qualifications are accepted:
a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any NCTE recognized institution.
It is important to note that the person so appointed as a primary teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment.
b) Candidates who are pursuing and have the Admit Card of the final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the Rehabilitation Council of India, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February 2011 may also apply for the Assam Special TET 2023 exam. However, they can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualifications.
It is important for candidates to carefully review the educational qualifications and ensure that they meet the requirements before applying for the exam. This can help in avoiding any last-minute disqualification due to not meeting the necessary qualifications.
Candidates who have been admitted into a 2-year D.El.Ed program before 31st August 2009 are eligible for relaxation as per Clause B under the subheading Relaxation. It is important to note that such candidates must have completed their course within the stipulated time as per the NCTE Regulation, 2002. Additionally, they must also have acquired the minimum qualifications as per the NCTE Regulation, 2002 before admission into the D.El.Ed program. Candidates who meet these criteria can also apply for the Assam Special TET 2023 exam.

Educational Qualification For UP
To become a teacher in the Assam Special TET 2023, candidates must possess certain academic qualifications. Here are the eligibility criteria for different levels:
a) Candidates must have a Graduation degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name) OR they should have secured at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation and hold a B.Ed degree.
b) Alternatively, candidates who have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and hold a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) can also apply.
c) Candidates who have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and hold a 4-year B.A./ B. Sc. Ed. or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. degree are also eligible to apply for Assam Special TET 2023.
d) Graduates with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. degree (Special Education) are also eligible to apply.
It’s important to note that these qualifications are mandatory for candidates who wish to become teachers in class I to V. Additionally, candidates who are pursuing any of the teacher education courses recognized by the NCTE or RCI and possess an Admit Card for the final year examination may also apply for Assam Special TET 2023. However, they can only apply for the appointment after acquiring all the required qualifications.
Candidates who were admitted into a 1-Year B.Ed. program before 31st August 2009 are requested to refer to Clause C under the subheading Relaxation.

The following relaxations will be applicable:
A. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) categories can avail relaxation up to 5% in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation to appear in TET. For PH candidates, the degree of handicap should be a minimum of 40% and certified by a competent authority. This relaxation is applicable for both Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).
B. Candidates who were admitted in 2-Year D.El.Ed program before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and subsequently qualified the program can avail relaxation up to 5% in HSSLC marks for Paper-I (LP Level).
C. Candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. program before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and subsequently qualified the program can avail relaxation up to 5% in Graduation marks for Paper-II (UP Level).
Application Fees
